This product is a non-detergent soap which can be used regularly to clean clothing and equipment without damaging the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coatings. Use this product instead of detergents or washing powder.

How to apply For best results remove all non-washable parts and always clean item(s) first with Nikwax® Tech Wash® in a separate wash cycle. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions. Machine Wash: Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser. Place maximum of 2 clean garments in washing machine. Use 2 full caps (100ml) per garment. Run 30o synthetic cycle and slow spin. Do not machine wash garments if taped seams have become dislodged.* Hand Wash (use gloves): Immerse 1 clean garment in 6L of hand-hot water in a bowl or sink. Add 1 full cap (50ml) of TX.Direct. Agitate to mix, leave to soak for 5-10 minutes, then agitate thoroughly. Rinse with cold water until water runs clear. Drying: Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows. To maintain waterproofing always wash with Nikwax® Tech Wash®. Do not use detergents. *Faulty taped seams sometimes become detached on old or worn garments. They can be re-stuck using a proprietary clear glue after waterproofing and drying.
When to use this product After cleaning and re-proofing clothing, maintain its waterproofing qualities by frequent cleaning with Nikwax Tech Wash. After 6 to 8 washes with Nikwax Tech Wash, re-apply Nikwax TX.Direct to re-proof. Remember you don’t have to wait to dry between cleaning and re-proofing.

How to apply

Use neat Tech Wash® and a sponge or soft nylon brush to treat stubborn stains before washing. Remove all non-washable parts. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions. Do not use detergents.

Machine Wash:

Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser.
Place item(s) in washing machine (maximum 2 items).
Use 150ml in medium/hard water* areas and 100ml in soft water areas for 1-2 items.
Wash according to care label.

Hand Wash (use gloves):

Immerse item(s) in hand-hot water in sink or bowl.
Use 150ml in medium/hard water* areas and 100ml in soft water areas for 1-2 items.
Rinse 3 times in clean water.

Drying:

Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if care label allows.

* If your kettle furs up you have hard water. For extreme hard water use 200ml.

To waterproof breathable clothing use Nikwax® TX.Direct® and for equipment use Nikwax® Tent & Gear Proof. Use Nikwax® Cotton Proof for cotton, polycotton and canvas. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing.

When to use this product

Clean items with Nikwax Tech Wash before proofing them with the appropriate Nikwax proofer. You should be able to wash reproofed gear 6 to 8 times with Nikwax Tech Wash before it requires reproofing with the appropriate Nikwax proofer
